Do something FOR
This is a common mistake we frequently hear in conversations. I wish to give a present FOR you.
I have prepared a present TO you. This is incorrect. The correct way to use it is to use GIVE with TO & DO or HAVE with FOR. HAVE a task FOR you.
DO my work FOR me.
GIVE something TO her.
