Good point! Cooking, traveling, sharing of good children book, all can be good topic to start with. It will be easier to prepare for the gatherings also.

When I speak English,the Singaporean always ask me where I am from. Sigh.....(May be my oral english is definitly poor)I am a timid mum.....I just like listening and reading.

In fact ,I love Singlish.Very interesting.

Don't worry, they speak singlish while you speak perfect America English. That's the reason. I don't Singlish. It makes me sick!

Actully my english is just so so lar....Already more than 5 people asked me whether I come from Korea or not when I only speaked english to them since I moved to SG...sigh.....I would say your and dou dou mom's english are much better~~~let me learn from you guys and other moms~xixi~~~
