If you’re a working professional in your late thirties, the median gross salary in your age group is $5,048/mth.
Managers in the same age group make a median pay of $6,500.
This is according to the Ministry of Manpower’s Report on Wages 2008 (released middle of this year).
Here are the stats for the various age groups:

   1.  25-29 age group: Managers $3,860, Professionals $3,416
   2. 30-34 age group: Managers $5,225, Professionals $4,269
   3. 35-39 age group: Managers $6,500, Professionals $5,048
   4. 40-44 age group: Managers $7,150, Professionals $5,536
   5. 45-49 age group: Managers $7,480, Professionals $5,800

The average expenditure of all Singapore households is $4,388 per month. This is according to the Household Expenditure Survey (HES) report released last month by the Singapore Department of Statistics.

Households staying in 5-room and executive HDB flats spend an average of $4,926 per month, while those in 3-rooms and 4-rooms spend $2,482 and $3,551 respectively.

Families in private housing spend much more, with those in private flats (including condos) expending $7,793 per month, and those in landed properties $9,962.

同意。应该用MEDIAN 而不是MEAN.

From the Singapore department of statistics press release:

Among employed households, median household income from work was
$1,090 for those in HDB 1- & 2-room flats, $3,190 for HDB 3-room flats, $5,560
for HDB 4-room or larger flats, and $12,500 for private flats, condominiums and
private houses in 2009, lower when comparing with 2008.
