Climate change occurs due to an increase of greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide. Trees and other vegetation consume carbon dioxide and produce oxygen. Deforestation will reduce the amount of carbon dioxide absorbed and the amount of oxygen produced, thus there is no way of controlling the amount of carbon dioxide added to the atmosphere with decreasing number of trees. An increase in carbon dioxide will increase the temperature of the earth and will therefore alter the weather and results in climate change and it is known as the "greenhouse" effect, which is the heating of the earth due to more greenhouse gases being released into the atmosphere. This increase in the "greenhouse" gas levels in the atmosphere leads to an increase in temperature, with the possible outcomes of changing weather patterns, rising sea levels and changes in other cycles in nature that directly affect life on the earth.
