CERTIFICATE OF CLEARANCE
The Certificate of Clearance (COC), formerly known as Certificate of No Criminal Conviction (CNCC), is issued by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Singapore Police Force (SPF).
With effect from 18 October 2010, the COC will be issued to Singapore citizens only. The document certifies that the applicant does not have any criminal convictions in Singapore within a stipulated period of time. Applicant must show documentary proof from the relevant consulate/immigration authority/government authority which clearly indicates that the production of the COC is required. SPF will consider granting COCs to Non-Singapore citizens who are in genuine need of a COC, upon appeal and on an exceptional, case by case basis. When submitting an appeal, the applicant must provide documentary proof that a COC is required and that the requesting authority does not accept a Statutory Declaration.
