我是按Syllabus根据剑桥Mark Scheme和Examiner Report整理的。有些学校和课本会给出更冗长更“完整”的定义,实际上是没有必要的。要是有吹毛求疵的老师要求定义考纲要求以外的东西,那我就更无能为力了。定义题考察的是理解,并不是逐字批改。文法上也没有要求——只要能把意思表达清楚,评卷不会强求用完整的句子回答。如果确信有遗漏之处,欢迎补充指正。
很多情况下老师要求写一大段的东西,评卷的根据不过是几个关键词罢了。比如老考纲5054 W06 P2 Q9bi):
剑桥的Mark Scheme是这样的:
(b) (i) force × distance M1
perpendicular (accept symbol) distance or shortest distance to line of action of force A1
Examiner Report:
The majority of candidates attempting this question did not define the term the moment of a force.
Much more commonly the meaning of the quantity was described or explained by stating what it
does. Such an explanation is not, of course, a definition and it does not answer the question. It is
quite worrying that such a high proportion of the entry did not understand what was intended here.
此题两分。说成force * Distance是一分,提到是Perpendicular Distance则会得到第二分。剑桥可是accept symbol的,估计你们老师不会accept吧(笑)。

Define what is meant by the refractive index of water.
Mark Scheme是这样的:
(c) (i) sin i/sin r or ratio of speed in air/vacuum to speed in medium B1
(ignore real/apparent depth) 如何?是不是觉得漏了不少东西呢?
Examiner Report:
The definition in (i) was poorly answered. Too often a vague expression such as “refractive index
measures the bending of a light ray” was given rather than correct definitions in terms of the speed
of light in vacuo and in water or in terms of the sine of the angles of incidence and refraction.
Although candidates quoted the formula correctly, some failed to use sines correctly in their
calculation. The refractive index should be greater than 1 but as the value was given for the angle
of incidence in the slower medium an answer of 0.75 was accepted, as well as 1.33.
