Love is good for your health
"Love...is not touchy or fretful or resentful; it takes no account of the evil done to it--pays no attention to a suffered wrong."
(1 Corinthians 13:4-5)
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Walking in love is good for your health. Did you know that?
It's true! Medical science has proven it. Researchers have discovered that hostility produces stress that causes ulcers, tension headaches, and a host of other ills.
Now when you think of hostility, you may think of the type of anger you feel when something serious happens. But according to the experts, that kind of thing isn't what causes the worst problems. It's the little things: when the dry cleaners ruin your favorite outfit, for example. Or when the cafeteria lady puts gravy on your mashed potatoes after you've specifically told her not to. Sound familiar?
Just think how much stress you could avoid by being quick to forgive, by living your life according to 1 Corinthians 13 and not counting up the evils done to you. Imagine physical and emotional benefits of living like that! But If you've allowed yourself to be habitually bound by hostility, that may sound like an impossible dream, but it's not! Because as a true born-again believer, you have the love of GOD inside of you.
If you'll yield to that love, it will set you free. Remember when JESUS called Lazarus forth from the grave? He was alive but still bound in the grave clothes. JESUS commanded the bindings to be loosed so that Lazarus could be free to walk.
JESUS wants that same kind of freedom for you. So get into agreement with HIM. Say to those deadly habits that have you bound, "In the Name of JESUS, loose me and let me go! I'm putting hostility, unforgiveness and selfishness behind me. I'm going on with GOD. I'm going to live the life of love!"
Remember: It doesn't take a medical miracle to turn your life around. All it takes is a decision to yield to the force of love. Do it today!
Scripture Study:
Proverbs 4:10-27
10 Listen, my son, accept what I say,
    and the years of your life will be many.
11 I instruct you in the way of wisdom
    and lead you along straight paths.
12 When you walk, your steps will not be hampered;
    when you run, you will not stumble.
13 Hold on to instruction, do not let it go;
    guard it well, for it is your life.
14 Do not set foot on the path of the wicked
    or walk in the way of evildoers.
15 Avoid it, do not travel on it;
    turn from it and go on your way.
16 For they cannot rest until they do evil;
    they are robbed of sleep till they make someone stumble.
17 They eat the bread of wickedness
    and drink the wine of violence.
18 The path of the righteous is like the morning sun,
    shining ever brighter till the full light of day.
19 But the way of the wicked is like deep darkness;
    they do not know what makes them stumble.
20 My son, pay attention to what I say;
    turn your ear to my words.
21 Do not let them out of your sight,
    keep them within your heart;
22 for they are life to those who find them
    and health to one’s whole body.
23 Above all else, guard your heart,
    for everything you do flows from it.
24 Keep your mouth free of perversity;
    keep corrupt talk far from your lips.
25 Let your eyes look straight ahead;
    fix your gaze directly before you.
26 Give careful thought to the paths for your feet
    and be steadfast in all your ways.
27 Do not turn to the right or the left;
    keep your foot from evil.
We give thanks to GOD, the FATHER of our LORD JESUS CHRIST, for this day and for you, faithful brothers and sisters.

Dear Brothers n Sisters
What is evil and what is good? Well everyone knows that. But no one truly knows this without being taught of God. Here is God’s indictment upon all of sinful mankind: Isaiah 5:20 “Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!” Religious man considers going to church a good work, but God said in Isaiah 1:13” Bring no more vain oblations; incense is an abomination unto me; the new moons and sabbaths, the calling of assemblies, I cannot away with; it is iniquity, even the solemn meeting.” Isaiah 1:14 “Your new moons and your appointed feasts my soul hateth: they are a trouble unto me; I am weary to bear them.” Why? It is not the outward act that determines whether something is good or evil. If you attend worship services this morning in order to please God so He will deal favorably with you, then you are committing sin. Christ and Christ alone is our righteousness, favor with God, and all blessing we have is because of Him. If we ever feel we have earned God's favor with any act of ours, we trample underfoot the precious blood of Christ. If, on the other hand, you attend worship service because you genuinely love Christ and want to hear HIS Gospel (CHRIST crucified) preached and fellowship with HIS people and truly worship HIM, then you are blessed of GOD. You have, by HIS grace, chosen that good part (Luke 10:42).
Most would consider prayer good, but just the act of praying itself is not necessarily so. God told the Christless religionist in Isaiah 1:15, “And when ye spread forth your hands, I will hide mine eyes from you: yea, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear: - - - -“. That which glorifies GOD in all of HIS HOLINESS, is good, and that which glorifies man, such as fleshly, man-centered, free-will religion, is evil. May GOD give us grace to abhor the evil, and cleave to that which is good.

Titus 2: 11 For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. 12 It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, 13 while we wait for the blessed hope—the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, 14 who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good.
Shalom Brothers n Sisters,
Grace teaches us! The "Spirit of grace" instructs us from the inside to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age. Let the Holy SPIRIT of GOD counsel you and teach you how to live in this present world.
If you listen to the voice of the world, you will be worldly minded, or carnally minded, which is death. But, if you tune in to the voice of the Spirit of grace, you can become spiritually minded; and, according to the WORD, that is life and peace. So, when the SPIRIT of GOD speaks to you through that still small voice inside your heart, listen and obey HIM. HIS way works! Trust HIM and remember that HE's got your well-being in mind. Jeremiah 29 11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.
Maybe He's asking you to eliminate some activity that's consuming too much of your time and attention. Or maybe He's prompting you to get up a little earlier and spend more time in the WORD and in prayer. Whatever it is He is telling you to do, if you'll do it, you'll be stronger in the grace of GOD, and consequently, in the blessing of GOD.
Don't hesitate another moment. DO IT! If you want a change, make a change.

Matt. 8:13 - Then Jesus said to the centurion, "Go your way; and as you have believed, so let it be done for you." And his servant was healed that same hour.
Dear Brothers & Sisters,
Faith is such a powerful trigger for the miracles of GOD. GOD delights to do extraordinary things for those who bank their lives on HIS goodness & grace. When we exercise faith in GOD (. . . without faith it is impossible to please GOD . . . – Heb 11:6), we are telling HIM, "I believe and obey all YOUR WORD." And my work is the evidence of my faith in GOD, for it is written “faith without work is dead . . . You see that a person is considered righteous by what they do and not by faith alone) – James 2:20, 24.
Salvation is not just believing or faith, rather salvation is the end of faith's obedient journey, and requires growth :
1 Pet 1:5-9 “Who are kept by the power of God through faith to salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a time, if necessary, you may have to suffer grieves through many trials,
So that the trial of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tried with fire, might result in praise and honor and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ.
Though you have not seen him, you love him; though you do not see him now, but believe in him, you rejoice with joy that is unspeakable and full of glory,
Receiving the end of your faith - the salvation of your souls.
1 Pet 2:2 “As newborn babies, desire the sincere milk of the WORD, so that you may grow up to salvation,
Read Scripture: Matt. 8: 5-13 ; Heb. 11: 1-40 ;

Be Careful to Obey the WORD of GOD and be blessed
"Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth."(Colossians 3:2)
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Things, things, things! A better job. A bigger house. New clothes for the kids. Tomorrow's luncheon date. A better television set. A bigger car. Get the picture?
Many of us have learned to believe GOD to prosper us to such a degree that we have too much to keep up with. We end up spending so much time and energy taking care of the legitimate "things" of life that we unconsciously give the attention and affections of our heart over to this natural world instead of to GOD.
When I first heard about living by faith, I was in desperate circumstances. I was sick and broke, so it was easy for me to dedicate ourselves to prayer and to the WORD. But as I honoured GOD's WORD, HE honoured and prospered me. I came to the place where I was no longer desperate. Then came the real test of my faith. Would I serve GOD out of my love for Him instead of my desperation?
Well, praise GOD, I did. But in the process I found out one thing: It takes a lot more dedication to serve GOD when you're prosperous than it takes when you're desperate! There's a constant temptation to get so caught up in the earthly things that your desire for the things of GOD fades into the background.
As the material blessings of GOD come your way, remember, GOD has not trained you in HIS WORD so you can consume it on your own lusts. HE has revealed HIS WORD to you so you can walk in the SPIRIT and do the job HE's called you to do.
Don't let the things of this world cause you to miss out on the glorious things of the SPIRIT. Get your priorities in line with GOD's WORD. Set your mind on things above, and you'll discover just how heavenly life was really meant to be!
Scripture Study:
Colossians 3:1-16
1Since, then, you have been raised with CHRIST, set your hearts on things above, where CHRIST is, seated at the right hand of GOD. 2 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. 3 For you died, and your life is now hidden with CHRIST in GOD. 4 When CHRIST, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with HIM in glory.
5 Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. 6 Because of these, the wrath of GOD is coming. 7 You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived. 8 But now you must also rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. 9 Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices 10 and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its CREATOR. 11 Here there is no Gentile or Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave or free, but CHRIST is all, and is in all.
12 Therefore, as GOD’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. 13 Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the LORD forgave you. 14 And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.
15 Let the peace of CHRIST rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. 16 Let the message of CHRIST dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the SPIRIT, singing to GOD with gratitude in your hearts.
We give thanks to GOD, the FATHER of our LORD JESUS CHRIST, for this day and for you, faithful brothers and sisters.

Matt. 7:7 - "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you."
Dear Brothers & Sisters,
We must get it out of our heads that GOD is stingy or miserly or tight-fisted with HIS grace & goodness. HE delights in showering us with good things - but we have to present HIM with our requests in faith.

We know that we have what we asked of HIM
1 John 5:14-15
14 This is the confidence we have in approaching GOD: that if we ask anything according to HIS will, HE hears us. 15 And if we know that HE hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of HIM.
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Parents train their children to do many tasks—from knowing which clothes match, to handling money. Perhaps the most important skill we can teach our children is how to follow GOD’s direction.
We are blessed that our omniscient and mighty FATHER is willing to make HIS way known to us. HE wants to reveal exactly what to do in every situation. In fact, HE promises this: “I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you should go; I will counsel you with MY eye upon you” (Ps. 32:8). Let’s explore how to discern GOD’s will at each crossroad of life.
The first step is to make sure thatwe have repented of all sin. Listening to GOD while holding onto iniquity in our heart and mind is like using a foggy and unreadable compass. Only after confessing and repenting of our sins, we can ask our LORD for direction.
Next, we should read Scripture regularly with a seeking, open heart in active faith. The Bible is like a lamp on a dark path (Ps. 119:105 YOUR WORD is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.). The last step involves GOD’s indwelling HOLY SPIRIT—the wonderful gift that the heavenly FATHER has given each of HIS children. The SPIRIT provides truth and guidance as we read the WORD and pray. We should listen patiently for HIS leading, which is often communicated quietly to our hearts as we spend time with HIM.
When asking the LORD to reveal HIS will, we shouldn’t expect instant answers. The discipline of waiting builds character, and besides, rushing the process may lead to a path that misses GOD’s best for us. Take the time to seek JESUS’ plan for your life, remembering HE will provide all you need to follow HIM.
We give thanks to GOD, the FATHER of our LORD JESUS CHRIST, for this day and for you, faithful brothers and sisters.

Luke 15: 18 I will set out and go back to my father and say to him: Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. 19 I am no longer worthy to be called your son; make me like one of your hired servants.’ 20 So he got up and went to his father. 21 “The son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.” 22 “But the father said to his servants, ‘Quick! Bring the best robe and put it on him. Put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet. 24 For this son of mine was dead (in sins) and is alive again (by the grace of GOD, with a repentant heart; - JESUS said in Luke 13:3 I tell you, No. But, unless you repent, you [all those who call themselves Christians] will also perish; he was lost and is found.’ So they began to celebrate.
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Prove yourself.” In today's world, that's what you constantly feel you have to do, right? On the job, among friends, even at home you're always working to win the approval you need. Working to convince those around you that you deserve the salary, the friendship, and even the love they give you.
Is there any escape?
You better believe there is! It's called grace. Unearned and undeserved favor and acceptance (but not without repentance – V21 ‘The son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’ And there's only one place you can find grace--in the heart of GOD HIMSELF.
There's no better picture of GOD's grace [that leads you to know what you have to repent] in action than in the story of the prodigal son

Matt. 7: 2 - "For with what judgement you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you."
Dear Brothers & Sisters,
Living by this simple guideline would eliminate the vast majority of the squabbles & conflicts we endure. Would we want to be judged by the standards we judge others? Do we demand grace but never give mercy?
