You are contradicting yourself without realizing it?
That a person's ability to acquire a foreign/second language declines sharply after puberty is a scientific consensus whether YOU agree with it or not. Science is about making generalizations regarding the general population, rather than commeting on individual cases. There is a window of opportunity for language learning that gradually closes when one approaches early adolescence. After that, achieving native-like proficiency in a foreign language is an uphill task – not impossible, but generally difficult, one of the reasons being the loss of brain plasticity after a certain age. There is abundant scientific and anecdotal evidence attesting to this. You claim to be an exception. Fine. It's not a verifiable claim, but you can make any claims about yourself on the internet. But you are the one who is PRESUMING what I can or cannot do when I never made a specific claim about YOU. Get it?
And, so what if someone can speak simple Malay after living here for more than 10 years? I can speak basic French and Spanish without ever having been in France or Spain. And I still acknowledge that my ability to learn a foreign language is limited. There is a virtue called humility, and I think it will do you some good to have some of it.
