Holiness

John the Baptist would never get hired today. No church would touch him. He was a public relations disaster.

Mark 1:6 says he “wore clothes of camel’s hair and ate locusts and wild honey.”

John’s message was as rough as his dress. A no-nonsense, bare-fisted challenge people to repent because GOD is coming on HIS way. No, John’s style wasn’t smooth. He made few friends and lots of enemies, but what do you know? He made hundreds of converts. How do you explain it? It certainly wasn’t his charisma, nor his money or position — for he had neither. Then what did he have? One word: Holiness.

Holiness seeks to be like GOD. You want to make a difference in your world? Live a holy life. Be obedient to all the teachings of JESUS CHRIST (obedient to GOD’s will always bring blessings). Be faithful to your spouse. Pay your bills. Be the employee who does the work and doesn’t complain. Don’t speak one message and live another! Just be GOD’s ambassador in your world.

But just as HE who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, because it is written, “Be holy, for I am holy.” (I Peter 1:15-16).

Perhaps you have never realized the purpose for your life. As a Christian, you should live in such a way that your life will make an impact for GOD. Your attitudes and actions should count for HIS kingdom. My dear brothers and sisters, I pray you will seek the FATHER’s will and surrender to HIS leading. The LORD will amaze you with the powerful things HE will do in and through your life.

David’s life provides a powerful example of both the LORD’s forgiveness and the consequences of sin. Although David committed adultery with Bathsheba and arranged for Uriah’s death, he repented of his sin after Nathan confronted him. GOD forgave him, but his rebellion had consequences. After David’s sin with Bathsheba, his life was filled with heartache and pain.

Faith and Obedience is not a formula to try in emergencies. Faith and obedience should be the way of life for a true follower of CHRIST.

3:5 我第八天受割礼,我是以色列族、便雅悯支派的人,是希伯来人所生的希伯来人。就律法说,我是法利赛人;
3:8 不但如此,我也将万事当作有损的。因我以认识我主基督耶稣为至宝,我为祂已经丢弃万事,看作粪土,为要得着基督;
Leave the Past Behind.
"But this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before."
(Philippians 3:13)
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Failures and disappointments. Aches and pains from the past that just won't seem to go away. Most of us know what it's like to suffer from them but too few of us know just what to do about them. So we limp along, hoping somehow they'll magically stop hurting.
But it never happens that way. In fact, the passing of time often leaves us in worse condition--not better. Because, instead of putting those painful failures behind us, we often dwell on them until they become more real to us than the promises of GOD. We focus on them until we become bogged down in depression, frozen in our tracks by the fear that if we go on, we'll only fail again.
I used to get caught in that trap a lot. Then one day when I was right in the middle of a bout with depression, the LORD spoke up inside me and said:
"Victor, your problem is you're forming your thoughts of the past instead of the future. Don't do that! Unbelief looks at the past and says, "See, it can't be done." But faith looks at the future and says, "It can be done, and according to the promises of GOD, it is done!" Then putting past failures behind it forever, faith steps in and acts like the victory's already been won.
If depression has driven you into a spiritual nosedive, break out of it by getting your eyes off the past and onto your future--a future that's been guaranteed by CHRIST JESUS through the great and precious promises in HIS WORD.
Forget about those failures in the past! That's what GOD has done (Heb. 8:12 For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more.”). And if HE doesn't remember them anymore, why should you?
The Bible says GOD's mercies are new every morning (Lam 3: 22 Because of the LORD’s great love we are not consumed, for HIS compassions never fail. 23 They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness). So if you'll take GOD at HIS WORD, you can wake up every morning to a brand-new world. You can live life totally unhindered by the past.
So, do it! Replace thoughts of yesterday's mistakes with scriptural promises about your future. As you do that, hope will start taking the place of depression. The spiritual aches and pains that crippled you for so long will quickly disappear. Instead of looking behind you and saying, "I can't," look ahead and say, "I can do all things through CHRIST who strengthens me!" (Phil. 4:13).
Scripture Study: Philippians 3: 1 Further, my brothers and sisters, rejoice in the Lord! It is no trouble for me to write the same things to you again, and it is a safeguard for you. 2 Watch out for those dogs, those evildoers, those mutilators of the flesh. 3 For it is we who are the circumcision, we who serve God by his Spirit, who boast in Christ Jesus, and who put no confidence in the flesh— 4 though I myself have reasons for such confidence.
If someone else thinks they have reasons to put confidence in the flesh, I have more: 5 circumcised on the eighth day, of the people of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of Hebrews; in regard to the law, a Pharisee; 6 as for zeal, persecuting the church; as for righteousness based on the law, faultless.
7 But whatever were gains to me I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. 8 What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them garbage, that I may gain Christ 9 and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ—the righteousness that comes from God on the basis of faith. 10 I want to know Christ—yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, 11 and so, somehow, attaining to the resurrection from the dead.
12 Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. 13 Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

亲爱的弟兄姊妹们,我鼓励你:回想一、两个你结婚时的婚姻期望,然后想想【你的配偶是如何满足的】;
Marriage Expectations
Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but desire fulfilled is a tree of lifePROVERBS 13:12
We all come into marriage with a full yardstick of expectations—what love looks like, what our roles will be, what we'll do on weekends, where we'll go for Christmas. But over the years, that yardstick starts getting snapped off an inch or two at a time, until we're left holding something a whole lot shorter than what we brought with us.
This leads to what I call the Unmet Expectation Syndrome. And every time it happens, the natural reaction is to go from disappointment to hurt to anger and finally to punishment—making your spouse pay for not living up to your expectations.
Here are four better ways to deal with these unmet expectations:
1. Love and forgive. Because you vowed before GOD to remain committed to each other, you must both own up to your failures and responsibilities. Your marriage will never outgrow its need for massive doses of forgiveness.
2. Communicate and seek to understand each other. Expectations must be managed, and the best way to do that is to keep the communication lines open. Clarify your needs and expectations. Don't leave each other guessing.
3. Develop GOD's perspective. Your spouse will never be able to meet the needs in your life that can only be met by GOD alone. Let HIM be your sufficiency.
4. Don't throw away the yardstick. Don't give up on your dreams. Even though expectations sometimes tend to be out of step with reality, GOD doesn't want you to live with just a few inches of the yardstick. Keep high hopes and expectations in your marriage, work toward them in a healthy way, and give thanks to GOD as HE fulfils your true and deepest desires . . .both through HIM and through each other.
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
I encourage you to think of one or two examples of expectations you brought into your marriage—and how your spouse has exceeded them.
And pray to GOD for clear enough vision to see what each other truly needs and desires, and for you to have the will and desire to meet the ones you can with joy and selflessness.

Always meditating on the WORD of GOD, and obeying it
15 Then the LORD said to Moses, “Why are you crying out to ME? Tell the Israelites to move on. 16 Raise your staff and stretch out your hand over the sea to divide the water so that the Israelites can go through the sea on dry ground.
(Exodus 14:15-16)
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
If you are always meditating on the WORD of GOD, and obeying it, it won't be long before you'll start wanting to do things the world considers supernatural. You'll start wanting to lay hands on the sick and have them recover. You'll start wanting to cast out demons. You'll start wanting to cast mountainous problems into the sea.
What's more, you can do it if you want to!
How? Not by jumping out and "trying" to do supernatural things, but by faith, obeying GOD’s teachings one step at a time. By doing the things HE's already given you power to do.
That's how it happened with Moses. He didn't have the power to divide the Red Sea. But he did have the power to stretch his rod out over it. And when he did that in obedience to the LORD's command, the HOLY SPIRIT did the rest.
It will be the same way with you. When you start doing your part (obey the WORD of GOD), the HOLY SPIRIT will do HIS and supernatural things will start happening around you.
What is your part? Feeding on the WORD of GOD, praying in Spirit and in Faith. Listening to what the SPIRIT of GOD says to you. As you do those things, as you move as GOD impresses you to move and take your direction from HIM, you'll flow in the supernatural as naturally as a bird flies in the air.
You won't struggle and strain and try to "part the sea." You'll just trust the Lord, stretch out your rod... and watch the miracles roll.
Scripture Study:
Exodus 14: 23 The Egyptians pursued them, and all Pharaoh’s horses and chariots and horsemen followed them into the sea. 24 During the last watch of the night the Lord looked down from the pillar of fire and cloud at the Egyptian army and threw it into confusion. 25 He jammed the wheels of their chariots so that they had difficulty driving. And the Egyptians said, “Let’s get away from the Israelites! The Lord is fighting for them against Egypt.”
26 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand over the sea so that the waters may flow back over the Egyptians and their chariots and horsemen.” 27 Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and at daybreak the sea went back to its place. The Egyptians were fleeing toward it, and the Lord swept them into the sea. 28 The water flowed back and covered the chariots and horsemen—the entire army of Pharaoh that had followed the Israelites into the sea. Not one of them survived.
29 But the Israelites went through the sea on dry ground, with a wall of water on their right and on their left. 30 That day the Lord saved Israel from the hands of the Egyptians, and Israel saw the Egyptians lying dead on the shore. 31 And when the Israelites saw the mighty hand of the Lord displayed against the Egyptians, the people feared the Lord and put their trust in him and in Moses his servant.
