Lies

Dear Brothers and Sisters

Lying is one of the seven abominations to GOD.

Proverbs 6:16-19

16 These six things the Lord hates,

Yes, seven are an abomination to Him:

17 A proud look,

A lying tongue,

Hands that shed innocent blood,

18 A heart that devises wicked plans,

Feet that are swift in running to evil,

19 A false witness who speaks lies,

And one who sows discord among brethren.

GOD knows we lie for different reasons. Some times for fun, some times for gains but most of the time for covering our shameful deeds. According to the scripture however all forms of lying are absolute sin. The lies we tell actually affect our relationship with GOD because lying makes us spiritually uncircumcised and unclean. Lies brings us to a state that we cannot call ourselves GOD’s children anymore.

Colossians 3:9-10

9 Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds, 10 and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of HIM who created him,

When Paul says to the church of Colossi when they have put off the old self with its sinful practices, (2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in CHRIST, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.) Paul intends to say that lying is like taking their clean clothes off and putting back on that are dirty which is inappropriate. When we lie we put on our old and sinful self once again. It’s not appropriate for us because we are a new creation in CHRIST JESUS.

It is not exaggeration to say that the Devil is the father of lies. He uttered the first lie when he told Eve she will become like GOD if she eat from the tree that GOD forbade them to eat from. He distorted the truth that it brought sickness, sorrows, sufferings and eternal death into the perfect world GOD created

JESUS said all liars are Devil’s offspring (John 8:44 You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.) Because when lie we distort the truth like the Devil did back in the Garden of Eden. When we lie we carry out Devil’s will and we can no longer say that GOD is our heavenly FATHER.

Revelation 21:8

8 But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”

Because in lying we chose to not belong with GOD’s chosen, we adopted a lifestyle that does not fit our calling and chose to be children of the Devil. The Bible tells us a single lie that may even sound innocent sometimes will always have such a negative impact on our walk with GOD. Unfortunately all of us have lied at some point even after becoming born again Christians. Well, the good news is the Bible also says, GOD will forgive us if we repent and sin no more.

We give thanks to GOD, the FATHER of our LORD JESUS CHRIST, for this day and for you, faithful brothers and sisters.

119:89 耶和华阿,你的话安定在天,直到永远;
Do not let the Devil put his lies over on You.
John 8: 44 . . . . . . He (Devil) was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.
Dear Brothers and Sisters, Some people find it difficult to believe GOD's promises because they've seen so many things in the natural world that seem to contradict them. They've seen faithful tithers go broke. They've seen sick Christians fail to receive their healing.
In reality, it would be more accurate to say that they think they've seen those things. Because, you see, there's a deceiver at work in the world. A deceiver who's busily doing the same thing he's been doing ever since the Garden of Eden: tricking mankind into believing GOD's WORD isn't true.
And, after working on it for thousands of years, he's a master at it. Think about that the next time he tries to make things look as though GOD's WORD is not going to work for you, when he makes it look like all hope is lost. Say, "I don't care about appearances. I believe the WORD and I refuse to doubt it."
Let me show you what I mean. Have you ever seen a magic show where someone crawls inside a box and then is sawn in half? You can see it with your own two eyes. The guy's feet are sticking out one end of the box and his head is poking out the other, and the box is plainly cut in two. Then the magician slides the two halves back together and the sawed-apart fellow jumps out of the box in one piece.
Now tell me, did you really believe, even for a moment, that fellow was truly cut in half? Of course not! You knew that you'd seen a trick, a deception, something that appeared one way when, in reality, it was a different way altogether. You may not have known how it was done. You may not have been able to explain it. But you knew a person couldn't be sawn in half, then put back together, so you refused to believe your eyes.
That's exactly the way you need to be where the WORD of GOD is concerned. You need to learn to trust it and rely on it to such an extent that when Satan shows you something in the natural world that appears to contradict it, you just say, "Well, I saw that, but I'm not going to be gullible enough to believe it. I'm just going to stick with the WORD."
If you'll do that, the father of lies will never be able to put one over on you.
Scripture Study: Psalm 119:89-104
89 Your WORD, LORD, is eternal; it stands firm in the heavens.
90 YOUR faithfulness continues through all generations; YOU established the earth, and it endures.
91 YOUR laws endure to this day, for all things serve YOU.
92 If YOUR law had not been my delight, I would have perished in my affliction.
93 I will never forget YOUR precepts, for by them YOU have preserved my life.
94 Save me, for I am YOURS; I have sought out YOUR precepts.
95 The wicked are waiting to destroy me, but I will ponder YOUR statutes.
96 To all perfection I see a limit, but YOUR commands are boundless.
97 Oh, how I love YOUR law! I meditate on it all day long.
98 YOUR commands are always with me and make me wiser than my enemies.
99 I have more insight than all my teachers, for I meditate on YOUR statutes.
100 I have more understanding than the elders, for I obey YOUR precepts.
101 I have kept my feet from every evil path so that I might obey YOUR WORD.
102 I have not departed from YOUR laws, for YOU YOURSELF have taught me.
103 How sweet are YOUR words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth!
104 I gain understanding from YOUR precepts; therefore I hate every wrong path.

A Heart for GOD A Vision for the World
I sometimes like to walk through a cemetery and read the epitaphs on the tombstones. It's interesting to see what words are used to sum up a person's life. This may seem like a morbid pastime, but it's actually a great way to reassess our own lives. We're each going to leave a testimony of some kind when we die. Have you ever wondered what your loved ones will write on your gravestone? What words do you want inscribed there?
In our passage today (Acts 13:16-22), the apostle Paul tells us GOD's evaluation of David: HE described him as "a man after MY heart, who will do all MY will" (v. 22). What an awesome testimony of a life well lived! The LORD wasn't describing a perfect man, but one whose life was centred on GOD's interests and desires.
David's many psalms attest to the fact that his relationship with the LORD was the most important aspect of his life. His passion was to obey GOD and carry out HIS will. However, that doesn't mean he was always obedient. Who can forget his sin with Bathsheba? But even when he sinned by committing adultery and murder, his heart was still bent toward GOD. The conviction he felt and his humble repentance afterward proved that his relationship with the LORD was still his top priority.
If GOD was writing a summary of your life, how would HE describe you? Does your heart align with HIS, or have you let it follow the pleasures and pursuits of this world? Unless we diligently pursue our relationship with the LORD, we will drift away from HIM.
Dear Brothers and Sisters, maybe it's time for a course correction: To diligently pursue our relationship with the LORD.
Acts 13:16 Standing up, Paul motioned with his hand and said: “Fellow Israelites and you Gentiles who worship GOD, listen to me! 17 The GOD of the people of Israel chose our ancestors; HE made the people prosper during their stay in Egypt; with mighty power HE led them out of that country; 18 for about forty years he endured their conduct] in the wilderness; 19 and HE overthrew seven nations in Canaan, giving their land to HIS people as their inheritance. 20 All this took about 450 years.
After this, GOD gave them judges until the time of Samuel the prophet. 21 Then the people asked for a king, and HE gave them Saul son of Kish, of the tribe of Benjamin, who ruled forty years. 22 After removing Saul, HE made David their king. GOD testified concerning him: ‘I have found David son of Jesse, a man after MY own heart; he will do everything I want him to do.’

Gratitude in Affliction
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
At Thanksgiving, we typically express gratitude for GOD's blessings. But did you ever consider thanking HIM for something that doesn't seem like a blessing—such as a trying circumstance: sickness, financial down fall accident etc. you want HIM to remove or change? A grateful heart is most precious to GOD when, humanly speaking, our situations don't warrant giving thanks. By making four foundational decisions, we can begin to see the value of our adversities and respond with appreciation.
1Believe and trust the LORD. Only by viewing life from a scriptural perspective can we understand HIS purposes in our trials and trust HIS wisdom in allowing them.
2Accept the situation as coming from GOD—either directly sent or permissively allowed. If we truly believe HE's working for our good (Rom 8: 28 And we know that in all things GOD works for the good of those who love HIM, who have been called according to HIS purpose. 29 For those GOD foreknew HE also predestined to be conformed to the image of HIS SON, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.), we can choose to receive each difficulty as coming from HIS loving hand. Then we can say "Thank You, LORD"
3Submit to GOD in all circumstances. Although we may not like the situation, knowing that GOD "is good and does good" (Psalm 119: 68 YOU are good, and what YOU do is good; teach me YOUR decrees.) allows us to confidently place our lives under HIS authority.
4Draw from HIM the strength to endure. No one has the ability within himself to endure hardships with gratefulness. Only by relying on our LORD can true followers go through adversity with an appreciative heart.
Now, think about that circumstance you would like changed, and with a new mindset, offer this prayer to GOD: "LORD, I accept all situations as coming from You. In faith and trust, I place myself under YOUR loving authority, and draw from YOU the strength I need to endure with gratitude." Amen.
Psalm 119:65-72
65 Do good to your servant
according to YOUR word, LORD.
66 Teach me knowledge and good judgment,
for I trust YOUR commands.
67 Before I was afflicted I went astray,
but now I obey YOUR WORD.
68 YOU are good, and what YOU do is good;
teach me YOUR decrees.
69 Though the arrogant have smeared me with lies,
I keep YOUR precepts with all my heart.
70 Their hearts are callous and unfeeling,
but I delight in your law.
71 It was good for me to be afflicted
so that I might learn YOUR decrees.
72 The law from YOUR mouth is more precious to me
than thousands of pieces of silver and gold.
