Rosemary (Lamiaceae family) is a small, bushy, evergreen shrub with a camphorous scent. It has tough, narrow leaves and bluish flowers that are present throughout most of the year, except summer. Since the Early Middle Ages, rosemary has been grown in gardens both for its therapeutic properties and as a herb. It is often found in the scrubland of the Mediterranean basin, and is one of the herbs included in the "Herbes de Provence" blend of dried herbs

Shea Butter

The shea tree (Sapotaceae family) comes from dry tropical Africa and grows to a height of 12 to 20 meters. It has a thick, corky bark that protects it against bushfires and can live for 200 to 300 years. Its fruits, which look like large yellowish plums and measure 4 to 5 cm, only appear after 25 to 30 years. A thin, edible flesh surrounds 1 or 2 large seeds, which are very rich in oil. Shea trees are rarely cultivated even today and shea nuts are usually harvested in the wild.

Lemon verbena (Verbenaceae family) is a perennial plant with a woody stem. It is grown for its leaves, which have a captivating lemony scent. In French, the plant is often called "verveine citronelle" (literally, citronella verbena). Although the plant is native to the Andes of South America, it is not frost hardy and can only stay in the ground in European climates that have a mild winter.
