[职场] [讨论]那个专业有前途?

<P><FONT color=#ff0000>Option I Multimedia Computing</FONT></P>
<P>C211 Multimedia Authoring  4 MC
This module covers the design and development of multimedia applications. It uses appropriate multimedia authoring tools to help you learn how to integrate and synchronize audio, video, text, animation and computer logic to develop interactive multimedia applications. </P>
<P>C212 Digital Media Design 4 MC
This module equips you with a basic understanding and a foundational grounding in digital media and principles. This course will cover a broad range of topics such as the different media and their roles, visual aestheticism, study of colours and typography, sound appreciation, website design principles and industry best practices. Real-world examples and case studies will be incorporated to enhance your learning
  C213 Computer Animation 4 MC
This module aims to introduce the fundamentals of interactive computer graphics, the required hardware and software environments, and related applications. You will learn animation techniques and acquire an understanding of the production process. You will study 2D animation concepts as well as basic 3D object rendering and modelling. </P>
<P>C214 Digital Video 4 MC
This module aims to introduce you to non-linear digital video editing. You will have an understanding of the entire creation process of a TV commercial/ corporate video production, from the initial stage of storyboarding to the creation of a rough edit. </P>
<P>C215 Digital Audio 4 MC
You will be introduced to the fundamentals of digital audio in multimedia applications. You will learn basic skills in producing sound using digital tools and techniques. MIDI, audio mastering, working with speeches and audio streaming will also be covered, together with an introduction to professional audio editing software. </P>


<P><FONT color=#ff0000>Option II Networking &amp; Security</FONT>

<P>C221 Internetworking 4 MC
This module provides an in-depth study of network components, and their functions and placement in a LAN or WAN. You will learn what’s behind the linking of networks, routing protocols, network hardware, network software/operating systems and the integration of disparate networks. You will also be introduced to such terms as Local Area Networks (LANs), Metropolitan Local Area Networks (MANs) and Wide Area Networks (WANs), and the technologies behind them. This module also introduces you to the different major network communication protocols. These network protocols include Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), Domain Name Server (DNS), and other related protocols.

<P>C222 Internet Server Technologies  4 MC
This module covers the concepts and techniques required to configure, set up and administer secure internet servers. You will learn how to select and configure appropriate server hardware and software for the various types of server protocols and services. You will also learn to use various tools to monitor and analyse the service activity of an Internet information server. </P>
<P>C223 Network Infrastructure  4 MC
This module equips you with the skills to implement and manage network infrastructure. Taking a hands-on approach, you will build competency in installing, configuring and managing services such as name services, network security services, authentication services, remote access and network routing. In the process, you will strengthen your understanding of the concepts and techniques found in the subject. </P>
<P>Pre-requisite: successful completion of the module C222 Internet Server Technologies.

<P>C231 Computer &amp; Network Security 4 MC
This module covers topics such as the prevention of security breaches, the protection of data, encryption, authentication, access control, digital signatures and other security controls to secure a computer system. It also includes discussion on computer viruses, worms, and malicious codes. This module also introduces the different network security devices and techniques. Topics to be covered include firewalls, packet, circuit, application gateway firewalls, virtual private networks (VPN), public key infrastructure (PKI), key exchange management and secure remote access. Different types of network security attacks and counter-measures will also be discussed. </P>
<P>C321 Wide Area Network 4 MC
In this module, you will explore the various network interconnection techniques used to form larger networks. Descriptions of bridges, switches and routers and the various protocols with which they work will be covered. The idea of Virtual LANs (VLANs) and its associated network protocols will be covered, in addition to the concepts behind WAN design utilizing point-to-point (PPP), Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) and frame-relay network technologies. This module will also equip you with a basic knowledge of broadband data networks such as ATM, SONET, ISDN, xDSL, Satellite Data Network, Gigabit, the 10GbE network as well as other broadband technologies. At the end of this module, you will have a firm grasp of Wide Area Networks. </P>

<P>C141 Wireless Technologies and Applications  4 MC
This subject introduces you to the different wireless technologies and provides an overview to their mobile applications. The wireless technologies and applications covered include Personal Communications System (PCS), Satellite Communications, Global System for Mobile communication (GSM), General Packet Radio Service (GPRS), Enhanced Data Rates for GSM Evolution (EDGE), 3G Network, Content Delivery Network (CDN), Simple &amp; Multimedia Messaging Systems (SMS &amp; MMS), X10, Bluetooth and IrDA technologies. </P>
<P>C142 Wireless LAN 4 MC
This module teaches the fundamentals, applications and implementation of Wireless LANs (WLANs; IEEE 802.11a/b/g and other standards). The topics include WLAN technologies, light-based and radio-based WLANs, the different WLAN standards, and physical and medium access methods. You will be taught both the theoretical and practical aspects of WLANs </P>
<P>C241 Wireless Application Development 4 MC
This module introduces you to the fundamentals of mobile application development using Wireless Application Protocol technology. You will learn the hardware, software, protocols and infrastructure needed to build dynamic mobile applications through hands-on experience and case studies.

<P>C242 Wireless Security 4 MC
This module leads you to examine the security aspects of the various wireless protocols, their associated security risks and countermeasures. You will be able to appreciate the need to secure wireless deployment and be equipped with knowledge to incorporate security considerations in wireless deployment. </P>
<P>C243 Wireless Protocols 4 MC
This module provides an in-depth coverage of important, firm standards such as WML (Website META Language), WMLScript and XHTML (Extensible HyperText Markup Language). In addition, it also gives a technical overview of Wireless Application Protocol (WAP), 3G Wireless Protocol (Session Initiation Protocol, SIP), X10 Protocol, and Bluetooth Protocol and related protocols. An overview of the Open Mobile Architecture (OMA) initiative is also provided.

This module addresses the best practices of the development and management of effective security systems with coverage on information, personnel, physical security, and risk analysis for information protection. It provides a broad overview of the principles and elements of information technology security. It covers the basic principles of the CIA model - Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability. Topics that will be covered include IT security threats, security techniques, security services, and system security features. You will also be introduced to the different information security standards available in the IT industry such as ISO 17799 and BS 7799 that implements a security framework for organizations. </P>

In this module, you will explore and learn the various biometric-based technologies and standards. Multi-OS, Java and others smart card technologies will also be explored.

<P>C233 Business Continuity Technologies 4 MC
This module introduces you to the basic ideas of business continuity and disaster recovery planning. Topics such as business continuity planning methodology, risk identification and analysis, business impact analysis, and the identification and evaluation of alternative recovery methods will be covered. This module also provides a broad overview of the business continuity services and technologies such as off-site vaulting of backup media, electronic vaulting, disaster recovery support services, systems clustering and fault tolerant technologies. </P>
<P>C331 Cryptography &amp; Computer Forensic Techniques 4 MC
This module provides you with fundamental concepts in cryptography. You will be able to understand some of the common cryptographic algorithms such as asymmetric and symmetric cryptography systems and their use in authentication, data privacy, data integrity and non-repudiation. It also focuses on the concepts and techniques for performing computer forensics analysis and examination. It covers topics such as the acquisition, recovery and preservation of computer data and evidence, imaging and storage of electronic evidence. The computer forensics procedures that address security, authenticity and chain-of-custody of the original media will also be discussed.</P>

建议你选择<FONT color=#000000>Multimedia Computing, Security方面不是光靠上个COURSE就行的,需要了解及精通大量的专业知识及经验,而且很累要不断更新自己的知识,当然一些相关认证证书更是少不了的.而且从前景上也是DIGITAL MULTIMEDIA方面会吃香.</FONT>
