Hi to everybody in our group! I am writing today to post a note for
the nurses in Singapore planning to come to Canada.
Currently I am on orientation in Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto. We
had a new manager lately and she told me if I have friends who wanted
to work in Critical care unit, she is happy to review the resume. I
guess she wants to hire more nurses and the chance to get the
position may be high.
So here is some info for that. The hospital's website is www.sw.ca
Our unit is critical care unit consists medical, surgical,
neurosurgery and even O&G, cardiac patients. Normally if you have
previous ICU experience, or few years in other specialty areas with
sound knowledge, they will sponsor you for a 4-mth training with full
salary.
If there are nurses who are interested, I am very happy to be their
reference and to provide more information.
As what we experienced here, it's so important to help each other in
Canada. The support from friends can be a great comfort to deal the
hardship here.
I hope this is helpful. Wish you good luck, everyone!
Regards,
xiaomin
BTW, even though nurses are easier to find a job in Canada, what I
observed here is you can't take it for granted. Still there are so
many nurses are out of job or can't find a full-time job still. It's
just a little side.</FONT>
