<P>Actually, almost all the countries , which participate(d) in the war, were disastrous in developing (their) (economies) economy.
t(T)here are always a lot of innocent people dead in war.(There are always many innnocent people who die in wars.) </P>
<P>Let me give you my two cents worth:</P>
<P>"A lot of" is nomarlly used in 'Informal writing'. </P>
<P>Dead is an adjective. It should therefore be used in front of a "noun". </P>
<P>For exampe, we say that there are "many dead people"; not "people dead". "People dead" sounds like Singlish to me. (I used to say that when i am young) </P>
