英语中能够表示"两"的词语很多，但其含义各不相同，实际用法各有千秋。现将"两" 的各个表达形式归纳如下：<BR><BR> (一) Both表示"俩；两者；双方"，有强调意义，要重读。<BR> Eg. Both sides of the paper were covered with writing.<BR> 这张纸两面都写满了字。<BR> Eg. I can do it both ways.<BR> 两种方法我都能做。<BR><BR> (二) two，twice表示数量、次数 "两；再次"。<BR> Eg. There is an interval of ten minutes between two classes．<BR> 两节课间隔十分钟。<BR> Eg. I have been to the countryside twice.<BR> 我去过农村两次。<BR><BR> (三) couple, a couple of表示"一对；一双；三两个"。<BR> Eg. The young couple get along quite happily．<BR> 小两口过得挺和美。<BR> Eg. a couple of years <BR> 两三年<BR> Eg. Let't leave it for a couple of days．<BR> 这事过两三天再说。<BR><BR> (四) double表示"双倍的；双重的；两用的"。<BR> Eg. We can't pay double of this amount．<BR> 我们不能付双倍的数目。<BR> Eg. a double advantage<BR> 一举两得<BR> Eg. A couch performs a double service.<BR> 躺椅可以坐卧两用。<BR><BR> (五) few，a few 表示"几个；两三个；不多"。<BR> Eg. I'd like to say a few words about it．<BR> 对这事我想说两句。<BR> Eg. every few minutes (hours， days) <BR> 每两三分钟(小时，天)<BR> Eg. There is so much to do that these few people can hardly cope with it．<BR> 这么多事情这两三个人真干不了。<BR><BR> (六) either表示"两者之中任何一个"，用于否定句、疑问句和肯定句。<BR> Eg. I believe either method will work．<BR> 我看两种方法中的那一种都行。<BR> Eg. Have you seen either of the two students?<BR> 你看见两个学生之中任何一个了吗?<BR> Eg. Either of them knows English．<BR> 他们两人任何一个都懂英语。<BR><BR> (七) neither表示"两者都不"。<BR> Eg. In neither case can I agree.<BR> 两种情形我都不能同意。<BR> Eg. Neither of them wants to stop for a rest．<BR> 他们俩人谁也不愿意停下来休息。<BR><BR> (八) between表示"两者之间；彼此之间"。<BR> Eg. Do you know the difference between the two verbs "bring" and "take"?<BR> 你知道"bring"和"take"这两个动词之间的区别吗?<BR> Eg. The Mediterranean Sea is between Europe and Africa.<BR> 地中海位于欧非两洲之间。<BR><BR> (九) bi-=twice，two; 表示"二；两；双；重"。<BR> bilingual 讲两国语言的 bilateral 双边的<BR> bimonthly 每两月的 biannual 一年两次的<BR><BR> "两"的其它译法还有：<BR> Eg. He cut the apple in half．<BR> 他把苹果切成了两半。<BR> Eg. It's all right with me whether I go or not．<BR> 我去不去两可。<BR> Eg. He's had drop too much．<BR> 他多喝了两盅。<BR> Eg.
