你看新加坡人怎么看待“割麦斯”事件：
Have you spoken to James Gomez? Did he speak out his intentions? Does the CCTV reveal his intentions? Was there really verbal evidence? You must listen very carefully to what Inderjit Singh said. He said that he had the "impression" that James Gomez was "misleading" or putting on a show. For what he did not say, but in vague terms he said "the whole minority candidate thing". Yes the Gomez is casting doubts... but the doubts are with regards to whom is telling the truth... not doubts of his character at this moment. If WP were to remove James Gomez, they are admitting to his dishonesty, which they claim is not the case. How can you, or anybody for that matter say he is guilty of a deliberate act in which there are no concrete evidence for? Can MM Lee tell you to assume that James Gomez is guilty if he does not sue him for defamation? If I were to accuse you of being a liar, does it mean that everyone has to assume you are one until you sue me for defamation? If someone goes shopping, and while shopping he intends to buy an item but forgot to go to the counter to pay for it. The detector alarm rings and he realises his mistake, goes back to the counter to pay for it. Is he a thieve? Would he be silly enough to then casually tell the sales girl, he actually was pretending to take the item out of the store? Should the store accuse him of being a liar because the security camera shows 'clearly' that he did not have the intention to pay for the item? WP is doing the right thing! If James Gomez is not guilty, there is no reason to remove him. They can proceed to sue all the PAP members who defamed him and Sylvia. If James Gomez is guilty, there is no need for PAP to kick a big fuss. Just incriminate him after the elections and prevent him from entering parliament (if he does win). The issue does not undermine our electoral process, but it promotes it since we can identify anyone who tries to cheat the process. PAP's insistence is begining to look like a wayang to make discredit WP in Aljunied, which by the way is WP's strongest contest for a GRC. No need to say more! If he is guilty, let the court decide with all evidence presented. Regards, Terrence

因此选民们都对执政党感到很失望，这是昨天一位网民对几场群众大会中所作的总结：
I felt this kinda of awkward that PAP are patronizing on the issues that Opposition Parties had brought up so far & rebutted them instantaneously. They shifted their tactic frm Gomez issue to now, real issues, future blueprints yet still rallying abt UPGRADING ard their precint if elected. Its like the pot calling the kettle black. 
I guessed PAP had wasted their 3 days on Gomez than telling people what their new candiudates can do for us. Basically, during ambush interview frm TV, they still claimed abt UPGRADING !!! Helping to clean residents blocks does not prove that they are capable of handling their wards. When medical costs being raised, i cld sensed that there were intense reactions frm SG PEOPLE which were part of WP's manifesto but was claimed as trivial issue frm PAP. SIgh!!! Wat a mess!!! Had PAP lost forms??? or overspend time patronizing on Gomez than rallying for fresh ideas to future Singapore or ?............<o:p></o:p>

看新加坡邻国马来西亚昨天的报章如何评论这场大选：
美景大橋不建了，長堤兩岸的政壇，卻是依然風雨如晦，上演著一場又一場既讓人煩厭，卻又讓人毫無選擇的自由，被迫必須追看下去的長篇政治肥皂劇。（接下来是批评马来西亚政客为大桥展开的政治角力，大家可以自已去看，因此我省略不提。）
無獨有偶，長堤彼岸，此時此刻也陷入了讓人迷惑的政治氛圍之中。彼岸建國以來的第11屆大選的選戰正在進行中，新加坡模式的大選，仿如5年一度的嘉年華，喧嘩有餘，但精彩不足，選戰進入最後2天，讓人留下深刻印象的，似乎只有內閣資政李光耀和總理李顯龍入稟法庭，起訴民主黨及該黨秘書長徐順全等中委誹謗的案件，以及被炒作得沸沸揚揚的所謂“戈麥斯事件”（戈麥斯是工人黨候選人，他聲稱呈交了少數族群候選人合格證的申請書，但選舉局指他實際上只是領取了申請表格，過後並沒有把表格呈交回去。戈麥斯後來表示這是他的無心之失並作了道歉，但行動黨卻對此課題窮追猛打，並形容戈麥斯是沒有誠信的騙子）。
政治就是如此，為了選票，為了達到打擊對手的目的，即便是“世界一流”的新加坡行動黨政府，也不得不心甘情願地掉入政治的泥淖裡，為那一點芝麻綠豆般的小事糾纏不清，把選前他們信誓旦旦，宣稱要跟反對黨進行一場君子式的、高素質的治國政策大辯論的期待，通通都拋到九宵雲外。
就在兩岸政壇風雨交加之際，長堤上大塞車卻更加嚴重了，每天從凌晨4點多開始，長堤上便塞滿了開往新加坡的轎車、巴士、羅里和電單車，數以萬計的起早摸黑的工作人士和學生怨聲載道，烏煙瘴氣的長堤上，不時傳出表達抗議的鳴笛聲。
兩岸的政治人物啊，你們在忙於各自的政治表演之餘，心中可還記得這批為兩岸製造財富和繁榮的小人物嗎？

老猫大选前一天回来巡视，看得惊心动魄，又是政治与种族，还屏障了芒果的一个帖子（因为涉及到种族问题）。
