放上term life的定义吧,可以参考下。主要3个方面,死亡,绝症,重度残疾(TPD)。
1. Death Benefit
Upon the death of the Insured while AIA Secure Term Plus is in force, we will pay the Death Benefit, which is theInsured Amount, less any amounts owing to us.
2. Terminal Illness Benefit
If the Insured is diagnosed with Terminal Illness while AIA Secure Term Plus is in force, we will pay upon proof ofTerminal Illness satisfactory to us, the Terminal Illness Benefit, which is the Insured Amount, less any amounts owingto us.
“Terminal Illness” shall mean the conclusive diagnosis of an illness that is expected to result in the death of theInsured within 12 months of diagnosis.
This Terminal Illness lump sum payment is a benefit that accelerates the payment of the Insured Amount under AIASecure Term Plus. AIA Secure Term Plus shall automatically terminate once this accelerated benefit is paid out.
3. Total and Permanent Disability Benefit
If the Insured sustains Total and Permanent Disability (as defined below) while the Total and Permanent Disabilitysupplementary agreement (“TPD Supplementary Agreement”) is in force, we will pay the Total and PermanentDisability Benefit in one lump sum.
The “Total and Permanent Disability Benefit” or “TPD Benefit” is a benefit that accelerates the payment of the InsuredAmount under AIA Secure Term Plus.
Before the policy anniversary following the Insured‘s 65th birthday, “Total and Permanent Disability” or "TPD" meansdisability such that from the time the disability commences and at any time thereafter:

(a) the Insured is not capable of doing or carrying out any work, occupation or profession, to earn or obtain any wages, compensation or profit; and(b) such disability must continue uninterrupted for at least 6 consecutive months (“TPD Period”) and there is no possibility of improvement for an indefinite time. On and after the policy anniversary following the Insured’s 65th birthday, “Total and Permanent Disability” or "TPD"means disability such that from the time the disability commences and at any time thereafter:

(a) the Insured is not capable of performing at least two (2) of the following six (6) “Activities of Daily Living” even with the aid of special equipment, and always to require the physical assistance of another person throughout the entire activity; and
(b) such disability must continue uninterrupted for at least 6 consecutive months (“TPD Period”). “Activities of Daily Living” are:
(a) Transferring: the ability to move from a bed to an upright chair or wheelchair and vice versa
(b) Mobility: the ability to move indoors from room to room on level surfaces
(c) Toileting: the ability to use the lavatory or otherwise manage bowel and bladder functions so as to maintain a satisfactory level of personal hygiene
(d) Dressing: the ability to put on, take off, secure and unfasten all garments and as appropriate, any braces, artificial limbs or other surgical appliances
(e) Washing: the ability to wash in the bath or shower (including getting into and out of the bath or shower) or wash satisfactorily by any other means
(f) Feeding: the ability to feed oneself once food has been prepared and made available
The diagnosis must be confirmed and certified by a Physician.
“Physician” shall mean any person qualified in western medicine who is registered with the medical council of thecountry of his practice to render medical or surgical services and in providing such treatment, is practising within thescope of his licensing and training, but excluding the Insured or his spouse or a family member of the Insured and/orhis spouse.
第三(这个是最常见,也是最容易理解的)
Notwithstanding any of the above, we shall immediately recognise the occurrence of any of the following as TPD forpurpose of payment of the TPD Benefit under AIA Secure Term Plus:
- (i) total and irrecoverable loss of sight of both eyes; or
- (ii) loss by complete severance of 2 limbs at or above the wrist or ankle; or
- (iii) both total and irrecoverable loss of sight of 1 eye and loss by complete severance of 1 limb at or above the wristor ankle; or
- (iv) a combination of any of the above (i), (ii) and/or (iii).
Please note upon payment of the TPD Benefit:
- If the insured amount of the TPD Benefit is the same as the Death Benefit, AIA Secure Term Plus (including
endorsements, the TPD Supplementary Agreement and other supplementary agreements) will automatically
terminate once a claim for the TPD Benefit is paid out. - If the insured amount of the TPD Benefit is lower than the Death Benefit, AIA Secure Term Plus will continue but
the Death Benefit and Terminal Illness Benefit will be reduced by the amount of TPD Benefit paid out and thepremium for AIA Secure Term Plus will be reduced accordingly.
Besides other underwriting limits applicable to this plan, this benefit is also subject to the TPD per life limit ofS$7,500,000 (aggregated with other policies or riders issued on the same life). For policies issued in other currencies,a conversion rate as determined by the company will apply.
