Putting up with is a must as cultural difference exists in different cities of China, too.

As a developed city's citizen, we must put up with some difference.

For me, I respect all of my fellows no matter where they come from while some people hold prejudice to others.

That's a lesson for that student and also a chance for locals to listen to foreigners' opinion.

Nobody dares to be so rude to locals except for that 'daring' student.

Might be both-win if you look at it from another angle.

One of points that student's said, taxi driver story, should be true as I came across a simliar story, in which the Chinese Singaporean taxi driver told me that he didn't like carrying Indians. Concluding from that, some taxi drivers are less educated. PAP should take more measures to educate taxi drivers as they get lots of opportunites to meet foreigners. If they do something like that, Singapore will leave a bad impression to foreigners.

In Chinese, 初生牛犊不怕虎，Singaporeans再想听类似的异议，也不是常有机会的。对于有些比较真切的观点，不妨反思一下。

当然，不是强迫任何人去反思, although I am that sort of person who likes to hear criticism from others.

Who gives a shit if your chineeeeeeeese is that good or bad? If chinese was that important as a global langauge, you won't have to jump through hoops to get a visa and eke out a living in sunny sing would you?? Secondly, its not the sings who want to be PRC citizens, its the PRCs who keep claming that since singapore is made up mainly of "chinese", they somehow "belong" to China (just as quickly as they are to deny sing "chinese" people any rights and privileges accorded to their citizens and corporations), much the same shit they're applying to Taiwan, and through their proxy north korea, to the ROK. You might be a PRC apologist all you want, but even a guy like you can't deny sing is a seperate sovereign state far away and culturally distinct from mainland china.

Yup, haha, agree. But that's hard to change. There must be a group of people to take those low-level jobs. That group pf people are Indians, Chinese PRC and Bangladesh people as locals are unwilling or incapable (such as house building) to do that. The reason why Chinese PRC has become the No.1 target for locals to express anger to is because the number of Chinese PRC Lee Kuan Yew imports is much larger than the number of Indians and Bangladesh people. But it's hard to change, too, as Lee Kuan Yew is Chinese (I don't mean Chinese PRC.), hence, Chinese PRC might be favored to Indians or Banglangladesh people by him.

Hahaha, that's a very good point. 很多人讲李光耀是审时度势，觉得中国发展了，所以才要靠拢。当然，这点不可否认，确实是一个很重要的原因。不过，就移民政策来讲，作为华人的他，倾向性上，更倾向于华人。很多人说他忘记祖先，我觉得他的行为表明，至少他有一颗华人的心。
