Waiting   for   windfallsA  long  time ago, there  was  a  farmer  who  lived  in a small  village  near  a  mountain in China. He was a very laborious man.  He always got up early and worked   hard on his farm every day. In  spring time ,he  grew  wheat  and  in  the summer  he  grew rice.  He also pastured some chickens, ducks, pigs, sheeps and a cow. He  wasn’t  rich  but  he could  gather  much  wheat  and  rice from his farm.  He made money by selling some poultry and domestic animals. So he wasn’t poor.  He had enough food to eat, so he never worried what he would eat at the next day. He didn’t feel hungry all along and was always happy. One day , he  went  to  farm when he passed by hurst  at  mountain, He  saw  a  rabbit  runing  fast toward  the tree. It’s  head  struke  the  tree .The impact broke the  rabbit’s neck  and  it  died  there  below  the  tree. The farmer was very surprised. He  picked  up  the rabbit,  went  back  home  and  cooked  it  for  lunch.  After lunch he thought that if he chould pick up a rabbit every day he wouldn’t have to work anymore.  He would only have to sit down below the  tree  and  wait  for  a  rabbit  to  strike  the  tree again! From that day onwards, the farmer never worked on his farm again. He didn’t grew anyting and never pastured any of his animals. He just waited below the tree! Day and day, the farmer waited but never got a second rabbit. His farm became desolate. Even a small tree had grown his hoe’s handle becouse he couldn’t use it anymore! Thus he  couldn’t  get  anything  to eating,  He  couldn’t  mark any  money because he didn’t  have  any  poultry  or  domestic  animals  to  sell.Finally the farmer died of starvation.

28  july  2006Tody   is  TGIF( thank  god  it’s Friday), My  teacher  peter  who  is  from  American guy   gave  us  homework  that  write  a  story  about  homeland  traditional  culture. I  think  what  would  I  write ?Writing  story  is  difficulty  for  me ,so  I   consider  writing   a  Chinese  成语故事，in fact  I just  translate Chinese 成语故事  to English,  this  is  easy  way  to  finish  my  homework.. 成语故事    name  is  《守株待兔》
