★ to be in the public eye 受到公众的注意。
Some people, like politicians or celebrities, are frequently seen in public or in the media; they are said to be in the public eye. The opposite is, naturally enough, “to be out of the public eye.”
有些人,如政客或者名人,经常在公众面前或者媒体中露面,就可以用to be in the public eye形容;相反的意思自然就用to be out of the public eye表达。如:
Ever since she starred in a film with Clint Eastwood, Jackie Brown has been in the public eye.
自从与克林特•伊斯特伍德一起主演了一部电影,杰克•布朗受到了公众的注意。 |
