If you map out something that you are intending to do, you work out in detail how you will do it.

2. In advance表示“提前，事先”，比如“预先通知”，notify someone in advance。与此类似的还有ahead of，比如“提前一天准备”，prepare something a day ahead of time。
需要注意的是，如果是in advance of，则表示“在……之前，在……的前面”，比如“在会议之前”，in advance of the meeting。
If you do something in advance, you do it before a particular date or event. If one thing happens or is done in advance of another, it happens or is done before the other thing.

If people pull together, they help each other or work together in order to deal with a difficult situation.

2. 在受到很大打击或者刺激的时候，我们会说精神很崩溃，这个时候就需要将自己pull together，也就是让自己“保持镇定，振作起来”。
If you are upset or depressed and someone tells you to pull yourself together, they are telling you to control your feelings and behave calmly again.

1. be resistant to something在本句中表示“有抵抗力的，不受……损害的”，这里主语只能为物。以句中的“防水”为例，我们可以说be resistant to water，也可以直接用water-resistant或waterproof，表示“防水的”。
其中，waterproof还可以用作名词，表示“雨衣，防水服”；或者用作动词，表示“对……进行防水处理”，常用于被动语态，如“船只经过防水处理”，“The boat has been waterproofed.”-proof这个后缀表示的就是“抗……”。
